First began as a goal to speculate emerging passions of extended reality environments. upon established philosophies of formal relations and analogical thinking. The speculated journey investigates architecture’s potential role in navigating futuristic third spaces in the form of Urban Nexuses.

what are the blended realities?

The left side (physical reality), the right side (virtual reality) and the blended realities (pink grid between). These relations, which can interestingly be compared back to the beginning with Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, an interesting parallel to the structure of our current society. This speculative relationship looks at the role of a host, which helps act as a reality anchor when binding with the Binary Plains. The binary plains reside within liminal space, acting as a digital fabric draped over our physical reality mappingin x, y, and z direction. Symbiotically developed within the Nexus architype, reality-expanding spaces focused on communally blended realities.

Futuristic Third-Places

With post-effects of urban sprawl a series of design motives aid in adaptively reusing existing structures as living/support spaces. Buildings that were once liminal fillers of our environment, have been maximized, utilizing condenesed living for community and infrastructural support. a fantastical hyper-society has woven its tapestry amidst the skyscrapers and streets, a nexus where architecture transcended the confines of traditional structures and waltzed with the surreal. Whispers of architectural remain with layers of built upon urban complexes. Filled in to the orthagonal’s shadows. Built upon what was known as the first modernism. Poured concrete, and meticulously (and may I say, extremely timely) crafted terracotta. In this Wanderland, the tangible and the intangible are in an interconnected dance.
